A little backstory... this historic plantation was purchased by the late Maxie Broaddus in 2009 with intentions of farming the 320 acres of farm land on the property. At the time, there was a 3,000 sq. foot historic home on the property built in 1662. Maxie had plans to restore the home, however, the home was destroyed in a fire not long after the purchase of the place. A new house (the house on the property today) was built in its place shortly after the fire. Maxie passed in 2015 and the venue is now owned and managed by his two daughters.
